The Old town of Nessebar

For 40 years, the Old Town of Nessebar has been an integral part of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. Nessebar is the fifth jewel that Bulgaria brings to the world treasury. In 1979, the Kazanlak tomb, the Madar horseman, the Boyan church and the Ivanovo rock churches were registered. And so, for 40 years, Nessebar has been among the most valuable architectural monuments in the world. This still undiscovered priceless wealth puts Ancient Nessebar in a row with Rome and Persepolis, with the Taj Mahal and Memphis. However, Nessebar remains on the UNESCO World Heritage List after being threatened with dropping following the world body's latest report.
